This custom illustration for branded merchandise was created for a family-owned independent bookstore in Eugene, Oregon. The image was built in layers for 3 color screen-printing, using the fabric color in place of black ink, with a separate 4 color version for the light canvas bag. While the original visual concept was an homage to the store’s long-running mascot ‘Eyeball Guy’, the owner decided to shift emphasis to the unique shape of the Gaudí-inspired bookshelf, appealing to a wider general audience.
